About

Hover is a technology company built for the field.

We build the relay and intelligence layer. It moves live video, control, and sensor data from the field to the people making decisions. Hover was founded by veterans of two industries: security and drones. Same problem, opposite ends.

01/Why we started

Two industries were solving the same problem from opposite ends.

The security world runs on remote feeds. Command posts, operations centers, and incident commanders make decisions from video and telemetry captured somewhere else. The drone world produces exactly the field video those rooms need, and almost none of it reaches them.

The reason is technical. Drone control and video assume the operator stands next to the aircraft on the same local network. Real deployments don't work that way. The aircraft is on LTE or Starlink behind carrier NAT, and the people who need the feed are miles away at a desk.

Our founders spent their careers on opposite sides of that gap. One side built security and operations technology. The other flew and built drones. The bridge between the two didn't exist, so we built it.

02/What we do

We move the hardest feed, and the intelligence on top of it.

Hover is a managed relay. A small proxy on the field laptop, a relay in the cloud, an operator client in the room. The drone keeps doing what it does. The room sees what the drone sees. We carry the bytes in between with the resilience cellular paths demand: retransmit, reorder tolerance, recording, and a viewer link an incident commander can hand to a partner agency.

Drones are the starting point. The same pipeline carries fixed cameras, field sensors, and the detection layer that turns a wall of disconnected screens into one picture. We began with the feed that's hardest to move. Everything after it is easier.

03/Who we are

Veterans of security and drones, building together.

The team comes from the security industry and the drone industry. They've built operations technology. Shipped hardware. Run commercial drone programs. Operated networks that carry critical traffic. We've spent enough time near real deployments to respect how they fail. That respect shapes what we build, and what we don't over-promise.

04/How we work

We build for the field, where it's hard.

Resilience first

Cellular paths drop packets, reorder them, and change without warning. We design for that as the normal case.

No lock-in

Anything that speaks RTSP and MAVLink works. Operators shouldn't have to rebuild their stack around one drone vendor.

Honest about what ships

The roadmap is public and carries no dates. We ship each piece when it's ready, and we say what's live and what isn't.

05/Where we are

In production.

Hover runs in production with a live aerial-systems partner. We are based in New York and build for operators across the United States. The platform runs today, and the work in flight is on the public roadmap.
