Visit website ↗These schools train drone pilots in Indonesia, from first flights to commercial work. Programs, schedules, and pricing change often, so contact each school directly for current details.
The credential is called the Remote Pilot Certificate with a Small UAS rating. Applicants must be Indonesian citizens, at least 17 years old, literate in English, and pass an aeronautical-knowledge exam, unless they already hold a manned-pilot certificate and a current flight review.
A failed exam requires a 14-day wait before retesting, and the certificate must be renewed every 24 months. There are 10 officially recognized UAS Training Centers nationwide, and no government fee is stated for the certificate itself.
Civil drone operation in Indonesia is regulated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation under Ministerial Regulation PM 63 of 2021, covering drones up to 25 kilograms for both recreational and commercial use. A narrow hobby exemption exists for community-organization flying under 7 kilograms with basic safety conditions; everything else, including all commercial flying, needs full certification through the SIDOPI-GO system.
