Argentina's requirements depend on the operating category under the 2025 framework, Resolution 550/2025. Open-category flying, with aircraft under 25 kilograms in uncontrolled airspace, needs no license; the operator just demonstrates basic knowledge through ANAC's free online material. Specific and certified operations need a remote-pilot competency certificate: you must be of legal age, hold a Class 3 aeronautical medical certificate, train at an ANAC-certified center, and pass a theoretical and practical exam before an ANAC inspector.
Apply through the government's TAD platform; the framework is migrating this credential toward a formal aeronautical license.
Drone operations in Argentina are regulated by ANAC (Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil). In 2025 ANAC replaced the earlier VANT/SVANT scheme with a new framework under Resolution 550/2025 and the regulations RAAC 100, 101 and 102, sorting flights into open, specific and certified categories by weight and risk.
Pilots in the specific and certified categories need a remote-pilot competency certificate plus a Class 3 medical certificate; the lowest-risk open category relies on free basic online instruction rather than a full license.
