Honduras issues an AHAC RPAS pilot license for commercial and institutional flying. You must be at least 18, hold a Class III medical certificate, and complete a theory-and-practice RPAS course at an AHAC-approved instruction center or university program.
You also log at least 20 flight hours and demonstrate practical competency. Apply with AHAC form PEL-FORM-006 and supporting documents, then collect the license in person; AHAC lists a small fee for the procedure.
Drone operation in Honduras is regulated by the Agencia Hondureña de Aeronáutica Civil (AHAC) under its RAC-RPAS regulation, developed to align with ICAO standards. Operations are classified into three categories: Open, Specific, and Certified.
Drones must be registered with AHAC, with an exemption for recreational drones under 250 grams, and remote pilots register with the authority; certain operations require a special operations permit (Permiso Especial de Operaciones).
