These schools train drone pilots in Nicaragua, from first flights to commercial work. Programs, schedules, and pricing change often, so contact each school directly for current details.
There is no drone-pilot certification for an individual to earn in Nicaragua. Flying is not a matter of qualifying yourself; it depends on a case-by-case government authorization for a narrow set of purposes, granted by the Ministry of the Interior rather than the civil aviation authority.
If you have a specific research, safety, or event use, the practical step is to request that authorization, not to train for a license.
Nicaragua does not offer a general civilian drone-pilot certification path. Under Ley No. 1230, approved in December 2024, the entry and use of drones are restricted, with the Ministry of the Interior (Ministerio de Gobernación) as the application authority; operations are authorized only in special cases such as scientific research, search-and-rescue, and sanctioned tourism, sporting, or cultural events.
This page is for general orientation and may not reflect the latest regulatory changes. It is not legal advice: confirm current rules, fees, and permitted zones with your country's civil aviation authority before you fly.
A listing in this directory is not an endorsement, accreditation, or certification of any school, and does not indicate affiliation with or vetting by us. Confirm a school's credentials and authorizations directly with the school and the relevant authority.
Nicaragua restricts drone use by law (Ley No. 1230); operations are authorized only in special cases, which is why no schools are listed here yet. If you operate under a special-case authorization, we would like to hear from you.
