Visit website ↗These schools train drone pilots in Spain, from first flights to commercial work. Programs, schedules, and pricing change often, so contact each school directly for current details.
The A1/A3 category requires a free exam of 40 questions across 9 subjects, taken in 40 minutes with a 75 percent pass threshold and up to 2 attempts, resulting in a certificado de piloto a distancia valid 5 years. The A2 category requires a free webcam-proctored exam of 30 questions in 30 minutes, with the same pass threshold and attempt limit, resulting in the same certificate under the A2 subcategory.
Every part of this process is free in Spain.
Civil drone operation in Spain is regulated by the Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea (AESA) under EU Regulation 2019/947 plus Royal Decree 1036/2017, which fills gaps for specialized operations. Registration is free through the Sede AESA portal and automatically renews every 2 years.
This page is for general orientation and may not reflect the latest regulatory changes. It is not legal advice: confirm current rules, fees, and permitted zones with your country's civil aviation authority before you fly.
